The CIRS Model ATS 539 Multi-Purpose Phantom is a professional-grade, urethane-rubber quality assurance tool designed for rigorous testing of ultrasound systems across an operating frequency range of 2 MHz to 18 MHz. Built with monofilament line targets and tissue-mimicking structures, it enables comprehensive evaluation of key image quality parameters, including dead zone, axial and lateral resolution, distance accuracy, sensitivity, penetration, and contrast. The phantom’s durable urethane rubber construction features a freezing point below -40°C, ensuring long-term reliability in clinical or research environments. With a speed of sound of 1450 m/s (±1.0% at 23°C) and an attenuation coefficient of 0.5 dB/cm/MHz (±10%), it provides consistent, repeatable results. Additional features include vertical/horizontal distance groups, axial-lateral resolution groups, and six gray-scale targets ranging from +15 to -15 dB, making it an essential tool for ultrasound system calibration and performance verification.
