Jim Rickner
Director of Training
Jim Rickner has over 35 years of experience working on a variety of electronic equipment and has successfully taught hundreds of HTM professionals to service and support ultrasound equipment. He teaches from an HTM professional perspective using a hands-on approach whenever possible.
His experience includes 15 years as a Senior Field Service Engineer, Director of Training and Service Manager. Jim has attended courses on GE, Philips, Siemens, ATL, Toshiba and Samsung and has repaired a variety of other brands.
Jim has been a frequent presenter at webinars, events, workshops and has taught numerous times at hospital facilities to successfully empower clinical engineering department staff to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and service repairs.
Jim Carr
Class Instructor
With almost a half-century of experience in diagnostic imaging, Jim Carr is our lead instructor. Technically trained and experienced on multiple imaging modalities, Jim is regarded as a technical expert on diagnostic ultrasound systems and transducers. His career includes extensive experience in field service, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, product development and technical support during his time at Technicare, Johnson & Johnson Ultrasound and Acuson.
Most recently, he has provided leadership for the technical operations and quality systems at multivendor service organizations; as the executive director of service programs for Unisyn Medical Technologies and as VP of operations and quality at Sonora Medical Systems.
Jim has been a frequent presenter of seminars and workshops at biomedical and clinical engineering meetings on subjects such as testing and quality assurance of ultrasound systems and developing a support strategy for diagnostic imaging equipment. We are very fortunate to have Jim on the Advanced Ultrasound Electronics team and our students are eager to learn from the best.
