John’s reverse engineering expertise allowed him to fill a unique need in the industry, which opened his eyes to the ultrasound customer’s lack of choices for parts, service and support.nnAlthough any significant depth of support by an independent service organization in 2001 was unique, John felt that he could bring increased customer care to those who were daily caring for the care of patients, life’s most precious commodity.nnGiving the customer what they needed when they needed it, John felt, was meeting a fundamental need of any customer. Unfortunately, meeting that need was not always possible when being serviced by large manufacturers especially years after the equipment’s initial installation. Today, Advanced Ultrasound provides a full spectrum of ultrasound products and services to sonographers, purchasers, veterinarians, clinic owners, imaging centers and physicians. Here’s the story…As a reverse engineering expert and multi-vendor tech support engineer, John experienced first-hand the industry’s segmented condition and high dependence upon the original equipment manufacturer for every aspect of their ultrasound needs throughout the lifetime of the equipment they owned. October 1, 2001, Advanced Ultrasound Electronics (AUE) was born. Advanced Ultrasound became one of the first companies specializing in ultrasound repair with best practices in quality assurance that included full diagnostics and functionality testing on dedicated test beds. Under John’s and his brother, George’s leadership, the company achieved immediate success and demand in the market, giving the healthcare industry a viable alternative to the OEM. The company logically expanded from there into selling ultrasound parts, probes, systems, field service, support, and training. Under John’s direction, Advanced Ultrasound has steadily expanded repair capabilities, stayed ahead of the evolving technology and aftermarket demand, and continued improvements of Quality Management Systems. Higher standards for all the repairs performed as well as all parts, probes, and systems sold are constantly achieved. This is done by keeping up with the pulse of the market and constantly soliciting feedback to stay in tune with customer needs.

In 2014, Advanced Ultrasound hired Jim Carr as Director of Service and International Operations to enhance the company’s disciplines of field service, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, product development, and technical support.

In 2015, Advanced Ultrasound launched AUE-UK and Advanced Veterinary Ultrasound (AVU) to meet the needs of the European and Veterinary ultrasound markets. Although John sold AUE-UK in 2020, AVU maintains a strong presence in the veterinary industry.

In 2019, Advanced Ultrasound achieved ISO 13485:2016 certification.

In 2020, Advanced Ultrasound Electronics (AUE), rebranded to Advanced Ultrasound Systems (AUS) to increase their footprint with hospitals, clinics, and imaging centers.
Today, AUS harnesses their 20 years of expertise to execute John’s mission to deliver customer care by providing a full spectrum of ultrasound products and services.
